The Stranger - Albert Camus🌴

On the beach of Algiers. the protagonist Meursault shoots a man without any explanation. Around the year 1900, we follow the events before and after this incident from Mersault's point of view.

A book about alienation from your surroundings, and above all, alienation from yourself.

The protagonist’s detached way of living is remarkable and can be perceived as sad and numb, though I often find it quite funny.
I first read this book in 2020 and a second time in June during the heatwave, which fit perfectly with the oppressive heat described in the book.

✷ Recommended? Yes! For anyone who’s had an existential crisis, or was it just a sunstroke?
