Inferno - Catherine Cho 🔥
In Inferno, Catherine Cho describes her experience with postpartum psychosis; for her, motherhood is both a dream and a nightmare.
In these memoirs, Cho brings together various introspective elements—Catherine’s childhood, past relationships, generational trauma, and motherhood.
She also weaves Korean folklore into her memoirs, showing how wonderous and at times frightening superstitions influenced her pregnancy.
This is more than a story of despair; it is also a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the support that family can offer. Her raw and heartbreaking account serves as a gripping example that motherhood is a journey full of obstacles, both internal and external.
I started designing this cover (as well as my design for The Awakening) during my residency at Extrapool last year. Initially, I wanted to print this design using risograph, but I didn’t get around to it. Now, with acrylic paint, the book is finally finished!
